The zig-zag sole gives these a squishy, bouncy step that I wasn't expecting from a canvas shoe. Wore them straight out of the box for a full day of walking and no break-in pain at all. The canvas has a nice thick feel to it too.

The reinforced toe cap has already saved me from scuffing them against a curb twice. Canvas broke in after a couple wears, and the flat cotton laces stay tied way better than the waxed ones on my old pair.

The zig-zag sole gives these a chunky look that pairs well with wide pants, though they run about half a size big. Metal eyelets and the reinforced toe cap feel solid for daily wear.
