First step in here and they immediately feel substantial—the padded collar hugs my ankle just right, and those rope laces give them a rugged character that dresses up or down without effort. The rubber outsole has already handled a week of city sidewalks with zero wear.

Rope laces and topstitching give these a rugged, outdoorsy look that holds up surprisingly well on muddy trails. Cushioning is decent straight out of the box, though I did have to break in the suede around the ankle for a couple of days.

I was worried the rope laces would feel cheap, but they actually give the boot a rugged texture that ties in perfectly with the topstitched detailing. The suede is rich and the rubber outsole has solid grip on wet pavement.
